Those
functions and services include: national security and public safety personnel,
social security checks, some veterans’ benefits, unemployment benefits, food
stamps, the U.S. Post Office, the Federal Reserve, federal prisons, air traffic
control, emergency and disaster assistance, and many more. However, even
those Federal agencies could experience delays due to the furloughs of
“non-essential” employees.
